Glenza capsules belongs to nonsteroidal antiandrogen drug which is indicated for use in conjunction with castration to treat metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). Glenza capsule is in the form of liquid – filled soft gelatin capsules administer via oral route. Each capsule consists of 40mg enzalutamide in the form of solution in caprylocaproyl polyoxylglycerides.
WHAT Glenza CAPSULE IS USED FOR
Glenza 40mg capsule is an anticancer medication which used for the treatment of patients with metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer.
(i.e. surgical treatments that lower testosterone/ prostate cancer that is resistant to medical).
PHARMACOLOGY OF Glenza CAPSULE
Prostate cells are normally called as androgen receptors. Androgens join with these receptors to promote the growth of these cells. Anti-androgens inhibit the ability of the receptors to bind with the androgens which then reduces the ability of the prostate cancer cells to grow.
Glenza capsules also interfere with the androgens from working within the prostate cancer cells.
Glenza is a class of medication belongs to antiandrogen. Antiandrogens are substances which stops the effects of testosterone. Prostate Cancer which depends on the male hormone testosterone or growth of its related androgens. If the number of androgens is decreased it is possible to slow down or shrink the cancer.
Rapid absorbs from GI tract. Time to peak plasma concentration is 1 hour (range 0.5 to 3 hours).
Human serum protein concentration is 97% to 98% and for active metabolite is 95% to plasma protein. Volume of distribution is 100L.
Metabolized primarily in hepatic through CYP2C8 and CYP3A4
Excreted via urine 71%, and feces 14% Half-life elimination is 5.8 days and N- desmethyl enzalutamide is 7.8 to 8.6 days.
HOW Glenza CAPSULE IS GIVEN
Glenza dose recommended for the patient is 160mg which have been administer as four capsules of Glenza 40mg. Glenza 40mg is given orally and once in a day Glenza 40mg can be taken with or without regard to food Swallow the whole capsule Do not dissolve, chew or open the capsules.
In overdose condition treatment with Glenza 40mg solid be stop and provide supportive measures care and monitor the vital signs. Multiple dose If administer ≤ 240mg no seizures is reported but when taking 360mg,480mg, and 600mg daily then 3 seizures were absorbed. If overdose occur, the patient will have high risk of seizures.

Rare side effects
PRECAUTION AND WARNING
While receiving Glenza drug the risk of seizure will develop in patients and by sudden loss of consciousness will leads harm to themselves. Inform the doctor If you have any symptoms of seizures.
If you had any neurological disorder like headache, lethargy, confusion and other visual with or without hypertension. Inform the doctor and he will discontinue the drug.
