Indications of Wysolone 5mg
Wysolone 5mg is the first drug of choice for most patients with primary Nephrotic Syndrome.
Wysolone 5mg is indicated alone or with other medications to cure symptoms when a person has lack of some hormones which are commonly produced by the body which are require for normal body functioning (low corticosteroid levels).
Wysolone 5mg is also indicated for the treatment of people with normal corticosteroid levels, who have conditions for which a doctor wants to decrease swelling, redness or to change how the immune system works. These conditions contain certain kinds of arthritis, severe allergic reactions, serious systemic diseases such as; multiple sclerosis or lupus.
Mechanism of action of Wysolone 5mg
Wysolone 5mg Tablet is a potent inhibitor of the early phase of inflammation, as well as of the development of chronic inflammation
Wysolone 5mg replaces a chemical made in the body.
It lowers or stops the body’s reaction to the allergen. It stops or lowers irritation and swelling. It lowers the body’s harmful response to diseases of the immune system.
Wysolone 5mg absorbs readily in gastrointestinal tract, peak plasma concentration is 1-2 hr after administration.

In liver, Wysolone 5mg is mainly metabolised and eliminated in the urine as sulphate and glucuronide
Excreted from the plasma with a mean. Half-life of the drug is 2-3 hours.
Normal Adult Dosage
Based on the seriousness of the disease, the prescribed a dose of 5 mg to 60 mg of Wysolone per day. Do not change the dosage without doctor’s instruction. Wysolone should always be taken along with food. Swallow the full tablet along with water, never break or crush it. The maintenance dosage should be gradually reduced as per doctors’ advice.
The disease is very serious and requires a daily dose of 200 mg of Wysolone for seven days. The further dosage is prescribed by the doctor based on the stage and seriousness of the disease.
In case of the Adrenogenital Syndrome, it is prescribed to keep a dose per day of 5 – 10 mg of Wysolone which is should to be consumed in a single dose. The usage of Wysolone should not be stopped immediately it must be gradually decreased and then stopped. An urgent stopping is problematic and has its own adverse effects.
The reaction of accidental ingestion of large amount of prednisolone over a very small period of time have not been reported, but extended use of the drug can produce mental symptoms, moon face, deposits of abnormal fat, fluid retention, increased appetite, weight gain, hypertrichosis, acne, striate, ecchymosis, increased sweating, pigmentation, dry scaly skin, thinning scalp hair, increased blood pressure, in acute over dosage by immediate lavage and emesis followed by symptomatic therapy.

This medicine should be avoided for pregnant women.
This tablet is known to eliminated via breast milk in little amounts so not advisable for breast feeder.
Tablet may reduce the effect of live or vitiate vaccines.
Wysolone 5mg may rises the blood glucose levels and worsen the symptoms of diabetes. The patients with diabetes should Use with caution. Tablet may reduce the bone density by decreasing the absorption of calcium. Tablet is needed with caution in the patients with liver injury and impaired kidney function.
